In the middle of 2019 I was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma, and weeks before my birthday started chemotherapy. Luckily this only lasted 3 months and culminated in 2 weeks of radiotherapy just before Christmas.

Several scans later (and a pandemic) was given the news it is in remission...phew.

During the pandemic took the aim of 10,000 steps a day for a month which is fun as it is around 5 miles. One month I took it a bit further and managed to cover around 220 miles which was enough to think about...

Land's End to John o' Groats a nice walk of some 1000 miles, gulp. Something I have always had in the back of my head and this was a wake up call especially after sat at a desk for 30 years.

On the 29th April 2023 I will depart Land's End and work my way north heading to John o' Groats. The only plan I have is my route which currently sits at 1001.5 miles, the rest will be carrying what I need with wild camping (bivvy + tarp) and some b'n'b/hotels along the way.

Oh yes I only have 57 days to complete the walk as start work again on 26 June.
